When the National Hotel first opened in 1940 it was considered one of the finest hotels in all of South Florida. Over 60 years later the hotel still has a firm grasp on it's excellent reputation thanks to it's professional staff and luxurious accommodations. The National has also been the recipient of several prestigious awards such as the City of Miami Beach's Beautification Award and the Miami Design Preservation League's Hall of Fame Award. Originally designed by Roy F. France, the National stands testament to South Beach's historical Art Deco-style. The National Hotel houses 152 guest rooms and suites. When deciding on Front Lobby at The National Hotel a room or suite to stay in, guests have several different options. The city view and oceanfront rooms offer views of the crystal blue Atlantic or the South Beach skyline. Because these rooms are located in the 11-story tower, guests are able to see the best that Miami has to offer. The poolside rooms overlook the 205-foot long infinity pool. The private terrace is an ideal place to enjoy an evening cocktail. The one and two bedroom oceanfront suites are perfect for families, vacationing couples and businessmen. The one bedroom Palm Garden Suite is the top choice for honeymooners. A romantic terrace allows for views of the ocean, infinity pool and tropical gardens.

Hotel and Room Amenities

Each room has individually controlled air conditioning. The remote control television is equipped with cable and a VCR. Valuables may be stored in the room's personal wall safe. A Room at The National Hotel Two telephones with modem and voicemail are also provided. Bathrobes, slippers and designer bathroom amenities are available to each guest. Guests also have a choice between smoking and non-smoking rooms. Rooms with connecting doors and rooms for guests with disabilities are also available upon request.

The excellent staff also provides guests with several in-room services. These include maid service twice a day, laundry and dry cleaning service, in-room dining, shoe shines and complimentary daily and Sunday New York Times.

The National provides guests with poolside and beachside service that includes sun lounges and umbrellas. A fitness room is located on the property for workout buffs. A concierge is available round the clock in order to assist guests in making the most out of their stay as possible.

Work and Play at the National

The National is also a great place to hold business meetings and personal events. Poolside at The National Hotel Classroom seating in the Oval Room comfortably accommodates up to 75 people. The terrace adjacent to the Oval Room is great for luncheons and cocktail parties. The Deco Lounge, tastefully decorated in the style common in the 1940's, is the perfect setting for wedding receptions and anniversary parties. The Press Room is ideal for smaller parties numbering up to 30 people. The most beautiful place to hold an event or party at The National is in tropical gardens that surround the infinity pool. The friendly staff is more than happy to assist guests in planning their special event.

Say I Do at the National

In the past, many couples have chosen the National as the place to begin their lives together. Couples may exchange vows in numerous settings around the property, including the tropical gardens or on one of the romantic terraces. Following the ceremony guests toast the couple with champagne, a butler passes around exquisite hors d'oerves and everyone enjoys a four course seated dinner in the elegant Oval Ballroom. The couple may then retire to their complimentary wedding night suite (certain conditions apply ).
